In 1908 a group of young people from a working class neighborhood in Rotterdam founded a football club called Wilhelmina, in honor of the Queen. Some years later, in 1912, they changed the name to Feijenoord, southern suburb of Rotterdam.
By this time, they have always tried to maintain the spirit of the port city, and hard workers, which they were terribly proud. During those years it becomes the main team of the city, and since the 20s stood out among the top Dutch teams, eventually winning five league titles and two cups until 1960.
