The Milan Cricket and Football Club was founded in 1899 by two Englishmen: Albert Edwards and Herbert Kilplin. The following year, they won their first title, The King’s Medal, granted by King Umberto I, after defeating Juventus 2-0. In 1901, they won their first national championship, followed by another two in 1906 and 1907. In the 40´s the club name changed to Associazione Calcio Milano.
The golden age of the Club was in the late 80´s and eartly 90´s, with Arrigo Sacchi and a squad commanded by the Dutch Frank Rijkaard, Ruud Gullit and Marco Van Basten. Red and black have always been Milan´s colours. Herbert Kilplin, one of the club´s founders, explained the meaninig of them: Red represents the fire of milanist devils and black is for the rival´s fear when the face Milan.
