Incredibly, during their first 57 years of existence Bayern Munich won only 2 important titles: 1 German League in 1932 and 1 German cup in 1957. Their difficult start, in addition to economic problems and their poor relationship with Nazi Germany because their followers were mostly Jews (two of its founders professed this religion) made these years a real toil for Bayern.
But everything changed in 1962. On the 30th December of 1962 Fritz Kosar, Bayern Munich goalkeeper had to play as striker being replaced by a 18-year-old called Seep Maier. The debut of Maier, and the arrival a year later of Beckenbauer and Muller led the beginning of a glorious era that has made Bayern one of the biggest clubs in the world.
